Diamonds & Light; New Collection Mood/Inspiration Board.

For those of you that have read my recent blog posts or that follow me over on Instagram you may have heard whispers (or shouts) of a new collection. I'm not quite ready to share the actual collection with you just yet but I want to share the inspiration behind the collection so I have put together a moodboard to help explain my thought processes behind the new pieces.

I'm not one to release collections seasonally as such,  I tend to release them in line with my own 'creative seasons' / periods of creativity and inspiration, this makes it a much more organic process for me and remove that amazing creative block that is a deadline!

Stones,  this was the original thing that started the thoughts behind this collection, I came across some beautiful uncut diamonds which made me think of strength and quality but not polished for other peoples pleasure. It made me think of unclassic and unexpected beauty, quiet beauty that shines from within rather than seeking perfection.

Texture - smooth and soft. Again the textures of the uncut diamonds, the contrast of smooth and soft made me think of femininity, how women historically have been perceived as the weaker sex yet what our bodies, our minds and our hearts are capable of is far from weak. Going through childbirth, the transformations our bodies go through, the ability to love unconditionally one moment and transform to a fiercely protective mother-bear in the next.

'Be Soft, do not let the world make you hard' - One of my favourite quotes by literary genius Kurt Vonnegut along with one of my favourite books which will always hold pride of place on my bedside table; Women Who Run With The Wolves. Both reflect how conscious I have been of the contrasting elements that make up a women but that fit perfectly together, complimenting each other. I guess my own personal journey is strongly reflected in this collection which is why I am so excited to share it with you along with the process that led me to it.

Thank you if you hung in there for my late Sunday afternoon ramblings, all of my inspiration images came from Pinterest, click though the moodboard image to see my inspiration board for more related images and to find the original sources for the images I used.
